Why Hire NARI Members?

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) was created to promote ethical conduct, sound business practices and professionalism among its members, as well as to serve as a resource for consumers. NARI members are among the most knowledgeable and dedicated professionals in the remodeling industry. Membership in NARI indicates that the professional stands licensed and insured, adheres to the highest standards of ethical conduct and remains dedicated to ongoing training.

NARI members are full-service contractors, design/build firms, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, subcontractors and other professionals who work in fields related to remodeling. To become a NARI member, applicants are required to have at least one year of experience in the remodeling business and are subject to a rigorous screening and ethics review.

Through hands-on training, teleseminars, publications and dinner meetings, NARI is committed to educating trade professionals about best practices, design trends and building techniques. For the last decade, NARI’s certification program has provided the remodeling industry with a formalized standard of expertise, knowledge and ethical conduct among professional remodelers. Prized by those who have achieved the designation, NARI certification identifies remodelers who have undergone detailed review and testing in the areas of business management, ethical conduct and technical skills. The seven NARI certification designations are as follows:

  • Certified Remodeler (CR)
  • Certified Remodeler Specialist (CRS)
  • Certified Remodeler Associate (CRA)
  • Certified Kitchen and Bath Remodeler (CKBR)
  • Certified Lead Carpenter (CLC)
  • Certified Remodeling Carpenter (CRC)
