What NARI Means to Remodelers
The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to enhancing and supporting the remodeling industry and providing resource information and assistance to consumers requiring the services of a qualified remodeler. Members of NARI are full-service contractors, design-build firms, subcontractors, lenders and other related professionals who work in the remodeling field. To become a NARI member, applicants are required to have a minimum of one year in the business and are subject to a vigorous screening and ethics review process. NARI also offers a certification program, which provides the remodeling industry with a formalized standard of expertise, knowledge and ethical conduct among professional remodelers. Members must have at least five years hands-on experience in the remodeling industry before they can become certified. Homeowners have come to rely on NARI to ensure that the remodeling contractors they choose are professional and dedicated to upholding the highest standards of honesty, integrity and responsibility. Membership in NARI tells homeowners that the remodeling contractors they are hiring have the “Good Housekeeping” seal of approval and have made a strong commitment to the professionalism and integrity of the remodeling industry. Furthermore, NARI members have privileged access to the latest industry information through publications, educational programs and seminars and can participate in regular networking events.
NARI Cape Cod FAQ
How many members does the Cape Cod chapter have at this time?
In January the chapter began with 31 members and has already grown to around 50 members.
What is the chapter’s target for membership in the first six months and by the end of the first year?
The goal is to gain three members each month, putting the chapter at about 65 new members by the end of its first year.
How is the NARI chapter different from the local Home Builders group and why should I join the one versus the other?
NARI Cape Cod is different from the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod. Whereas the HB&RACC focuses on legislative issues, NARI focuses on the educational aspect of the remodeling industry. Our chapter meetings deal with running your business successfully, learning about new products in the industry, marketing/advertising, etc. It is up to you and your company to determine which organization is a better fit. There are industry professionals who belong to both organizations. As a point of information, NARI Cape Cod will have a joint meeting with the HB&RACC in May. This is the second year that we have done this, and it is guaranteed to be a great evening.
How do you see my services fitting into the NARI chapter? Is my business a good fit?
NARI is made up of a variety of people and companies who work in and around the remodeling industry.
If I were to join, how could I assist the chapter? What are the chapter’s needs?
With every growing group there are always needs. We would love for you to get involved with one of the committees (membership, programs/education, etc). Also, our biggest need currently is educating other remodeling professionals about the importance of joining NARI. We would appreciate it if your company could be part of our “countertop program,” allowing us to place at your store information about the organization and its meetings. We would also give you a "Why Join NARI?" sheet that answers a lot of questions prospective members may have.
